Website Redesign for Pensjonat Bankowy
A modern hospitality website built with a dedicated UX/UI approach, powered by Next.js and Contentful
Project Goal
The objective of the project was to comprehensively redesign the website of Pensjonat Bankowy — from creating a fully custom UX/UI concept to implementing a modern technology stack that ensures high performance, intuitive navigation, and seamless content management.
The redesign aimed not only to improve aesthetics, but more importantly to elevate the overall user experience and strengthen the property’s professional online presence.
UX/UI Challenges & Strategy
The previous website functioned primarily as an informational page but lacked a modern interface, structured content hierarchy, and strong visual identity.
Our key priorities were to:
- deeply understand user needs and booking-related behaviors,
- design a clear and intuitive information architecture, ensuring that essential sections (accommodation, gallery, contact, amenities) are easily accessible,
- create a cohesive visual system aligned with the character of the property,
- optimize usability across all devices, with a mobile-first approach,
- enhance performance to reduce friction and improve engagement.
The entire process was driven by UX principles — focusing on clarity, simplicity, and conversion-oriented design.
UX & UI Design in Figma
The design phase began with structural planning and user flow mapping.
Using Figma, we developed:
- low-fidelity wireframes defining layout structure and content hierarchy,
- high-fidelity UI mockups presenting the final visual direction,
- interactive prototypes to validate navigation and user journeys,
- a consistent component-based design system (typography, spacing, color palette, UI elements).
Iterative design reviews ensured that both usability and aesthetics were refined before development began.
Technology & Implementation
The website was built using a modern, scalable technology stack:
- Next.js – a React-based framework enabling high performance, server-side rendering, SEO optimization, and fast load times,
- Contentful (Headless CMS) – providing flexible, structured content management and allowing the property owners to independently manage rooms, descriptions, images, and updates without developer involvement.
This architecture ensures long-term scalability, maintainability, and excellent performance across devices.
Results
Following the redesign and launch:
- The website achieved a significantly more professional and contemporary visual identity.
- Improved structure and UX clarity led to longer session durations and more intuitive user navigation.
